Moberly First Church of God began in 1965 as a group of local women raising funds in support of worldwide Christian missionary activities. In 1966 the group - along with families and friends - became associated with the Church of God (Anderson, IN), and was formally recognized as a Church of God congregation. The following year, land was acquired and a sanctuary constructed.
We like to think of ourselves as a family - an open, inviting, and inclusive family. We welcome everyone - just as you are - who desires an authentic, biblically-based relationship with God. We believe that it’s important to learn and grow as Christians so that we can truly be a “light” for others, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving our neighbors. Our mission statement states that we exist "...to act as the body of Christ in our community, nation, and the world..."
We believe we are called to meet needs in our community as we are able to do so. Thus, we offer a variety of ministries and activities beyond our weekly Sunday Services.
As part of our involvement with the youth of our community, we sponsor Cub Scout Pack 19 and Boy Scout Troop 19 .
We are ongoing contributors to the Christos Center.
As members of the Randolph County Ministerial Alliance, we support its activities and ministry outreach.
At the state and national level, we partner with Missouri Ministries of the Church of God and Church of God Ministries
